The Canelo Alvarez Edition starts with wool felt sourced from European mills known for fiber density and color consistency. We shape each crown by hand, using steam and traditional blocking methods that let the felt settle into its final form without stress points.
Sizing & Fit Guide
This edition is available in sizes Small (6⅞ – 7), Medium (7⅛ – 7¼), Large (7⅜ – 7½), and X-Large (7⅝ – 7¾). We recommend measuring your head circumference with a soft tape measure just above your ears and eyebrows, then comparing that measurement to our size chart included in every order confirmation.
The interior band adjusts by pulling a small leather tab inside the sweatband, giving you about a half-size range of flexibility. If you’re between sizes, we suggest sizing up — the adjustment mechanism lets you tighten the fit, but there’s no way to make a too-small hat larger. The crown depth is medium, sitting about an inch above the top of your head when worn properly, and the brim width measures 2.5 inches all around for balanced proportions.
Care & Maintenance
Wool felt benefits from regular brushing with a soft-bristle hat brush, always working in the direction of the nap. Light rain won’t damage the material, but if the hat gets soaked, let it air-dry on a form or upside-down on a clean towel — never near direct heat.
For dust or surface dirt, use a lint roller or damp cloth and blot gently rather than rubbing. The grosgrain ribbon can be spot-cleaned with a tiny amount of water and mild detergent on a cotton swab. Store the hat in its original box when not in use, resting crown-down so the brim doesn’t flatten. Avoid hanging the hat by the brim for extended periods, as this can warp the edge binding over time.
